  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder

  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground nutmeg Can use more if desired.
  • 2 cups Chopped Granny Smith apples Peeled and diced into small pieces.
Maple Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar For sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons Maple syrup Adjust based on desired sweetness.
  • 1-2 tablespoons Milk or cream To achieve desired drizzling consistency.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar, mixing well.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla to the mixture and whisk until smooth.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in another bowl.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Fold the dry mixture into the butter mixture until just incorporated.
  2. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased or lined 8x8 baking pan.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let cool before drizzling the maple glaze on top.
Making the Glaze
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.
  2. Adjust the consistency as necessary, adding more milk for a thinner glaze.
